Maybe that's true but I don't think Underoath was taking the popular route with this album. They actually went in a different direction than what typically makes a band popular. The irony is, they became popular for it.

Amen. Totally deserving of its classic status, and you backed it up well, so have a pos. I cannot
for the life of me get into their other albums, and it makes my constant fawning over this album just
that much more difficult to justify as a result, but this is an accomplishment in the metalcore scene.
Also, They're Only Chasing Safety sucks ass, sorry guys =/
