If you think this sounds good, check some bootlegs from this tour
this show ain't shit compared to other shows on the tour, and that's saying a lot considering how incredible this album is

Hi. I got a tape I wanna play
Fripp, what's your top bootlegs?

hard to say, I'm not really into bootlegs as much as I was when I was younger, but I usually go for bootlegs when the set looks good
A enduring favorite of mine is Iggy Pop's Heroin Hates You, from his 1979 New Values tour. Not the greatest in terms of quality, but it's a great show.

My only gripe with this, aside from the inclusion of the truly awful "Genius of Love", is that when compared to other shows on the tour, it feels as if the band is going through the motions because they're filming (and even then, it's incredible) plus other shows are far, far more energetic.

in general, the songs from Speaking in Tongues really distinguish how great they were live. SMS's versions don't even compare anymore.

Oops I meant live bootlegs for Talking Heads in this era hah.
My favorite ever bootleg (right now anyway) has to be The Clash - Rat Parrol from Fort Bragg. I downloaded the ones that were remastered by a fan and only a few that are of poor quality from the original bootleg. Next in line for me would be Mayhem's Dawn of the Black Hearts

Where's the vocalist for Heaven? Is it prerecorded or something because it's definitely not the bassist.

I stand corrected, but the only issue with the movie is that some bits have the wrong audio
|
| |
I can't see her singing though so it's...prerecorded?

from wiki
"(with Lynn Mabry, originally of The Brides of Funkenstein and Parliament-Funkadelic, providing harmony vocals from backstage)"
tbh I never watched the movie in full, so I assumed it was Weymouth, but wiki is your best friend. So don't be saying some dumb stuff like it was pre-recorded.
|
| |
I was asking if it was prerecorded, not stating it as a fact.
But thanks Frip, thought it sounded too lively to be true.
