Great review as always, Rudy. Definitely a disappointing album, but has its moments occasionally. "Tap Out" is in my opinion one of the best Strokes songs ever.

And to think I'm now in the same ranks as this guy...
Not like the bar's raised, or anything silly like that!

ummm don't get ahead of yourself, this band had one pretty good album
Ramones had like 5

That's interesting, but I honestly can't see The Strokes gaining more recognition as time passes. The way I see it, their popularity dwindles more and more with each release. Maybe if they'd faded into the dust several years back, we'd value them more than we do now.
Or I'm stupid, etc.

Muse will be treated like Queen
The White Stripes/Jack White in the '00s/'10s will be viewed like Zeppelin was in the '70s in terms of being the decade-defining artist
Are these from youtube or something?

lol Jon Stewart is hilarious.

I still watch the Daily Show from time to time. I've always liked Jon Stewart, he's very witty. As for Daniel Tosh, I've only seen his stand-up special from a while ago on CC, but never seen his show.

By far the worst album The Strokes have put out.

Excellent review. Gives the record a seemingly deserved admonishment but builds it up enough to make me still want to get it. Top marks, Rudy.

The strokes are enjoyable but a little bit overrated by some rock circles. Album is ok but their older works are so much better

i mean this arguably happened to the ramones, just over a far longer extended period of time. if we were saying this was the strokes last album it would, in their short career, be a pretty fitting adios amigos deal

Jom that was that Reddit thread from yesterday right?

Album Rating: 2.8
That's a pretty interesting way to look at it Jom (as are the other artists you mentioned). I could definitely see it happening
just because I think as time passes Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth could get a lot more respect than they
currently do, and Is This It could be looked at as their Ramones bc it did sort of establish/set off that whole NYC garage
rock scene. Besides, who knows how music is going to be looked at in 60 years - as people grow older it's doubtful the
same classics will still be The Classics. hell there's plenty of people on sputnik who think the Beatles are trash
thanks viney, this definitely has a few excellent tracks to get into

Great review, but Nikolai is the bassist, not Albert Jr.
