Excellent review. May or may not check this out; never been a huge GR fan.

Gamma Ray's always has a harder take on power metal -- if not quite Iced Earth style, then halfway between it and the cheese masters.

The title-track is very good

Built A World is the best track on the album, after Avalon. Such a pity it's only a bonus track..

I still haven't heard Built A World but I'll check it out then.

Avalon and I Will Return rule, the rest was really underwhelming, unfortunately. Great review, and I agree with almost everything written.

'Seven' and 'I will Return' are great songs.

I saw these guys live yesterday with Rhapsody of Fire and Elvenking. The first two were impressive, but Gamma Ray brought the heat, awesome show

I've seen them live twice and both were fantastic.
Also, the artwork for this album is really ugly. Which is sad because I usually love their album covers.

It is pretty bland, no idea why they'd make such a poor choice. The Master of Confusion EP artwork is so much better.

Haha. I actually set the MOC artwork as the cover for this whole album on my iTunes.

Wow this is REALLY good. The first half is incredible.

Certainly their best since Majestic.

Good album with a lot of filler.
Interestingly, Kai Hansen has hired a new vocalist. Not sure if it's just for live shows, but he might appear on their next record (whenever that may be)

I love Gamma Ray's music, but I can't stand Kai's vocals. The first three albums with Ralf Sheepers (probably spelled wrong) are good just because Kai isn't singing. It's the same reason I can't get into Helloween's debut.
