I'm just saying, Thomas joined Chiodos, the other five guys didn't join Fall of Troy. It's not like the guitar work is a step back from past albums. People down scoring an album because they think Craig (or the other guys for that matter) told him to not go crazy is just dumb. This is a foreign environment for him.

damn its not just thomas dumbing it down, everyone in the band did like wow, they were really trying with illuminaudio and it was their best. i mean its just weird that craig comes back and then everyone gets lazy? its not just chiodos either, i think craig owens stifles everyone in bands hes in (tsoaf, d.r.u.g.s anyone?). hes a nice guy but shit why?

I'll agree with the fact that this album feels dumbed down musically. It might just be a coincidence with Craig coming back or it might not be, I dunno.

I honestly think the production on Illuminaudio really does it some favors as compared to this. I'm not a fan of where things fall in the mix in general on this album.

i was actually surprised at how lush the mix was, especially for this style of music. pretty sure it was completely ruined in mastering because it looks super compressed from hell. welcome to 2014 folks

Album wasn't a bad listen. It's disappointing they didn't highlight Erak's abilities more. If anything, this review has made me impatient for new TFOT.
