The instrumentals are definitely a good time. I think I'd actually like the vocals if they didn't feel a tiny bit overproduced at times.
Overproduction happens on screamed vocals too, but I think it's a little easier to ignore. Not bad overall though. Thanks for the link

The first two songs are really good, but the rest is really... I don't know. The rest of the songs are just kind of there. Not great, not bad....just there....

I would have thought the same thing.

But yeah I definitely agree about the first two tracks outshining the rest

I think the "problem" with the album is that we all got so familiar with the rich content Nevermore spoiled us all these years, and as Sanctuary were never as technical or so into extreme metal, the comparison tends to favor the former outfit.
The same "problem" exists between the first few Nevermore releases - Nevermore and In Memory - and the rest of the NM discog.
So yeah, the album sounds lacking by "Nevermore standards", but Sanctuary were (are) primarily a heavy/power metal band that developed some solid progressive metal elements on the sophomore album.

Digging the album a lot but i feel like as the album goes on the songs tend to blend together. Sworn To Believe kicks ass tough.

Nice review my friend.
"the author of this review can’t help wondering why people are asking him to take his pitch to the sky all the time.."
He had a serious injury during Refuge Denied sessions, Warrel can't hit the high notes like he used to.
The album has some pretty nice songs.

Thanks man.
His low pitch is just as excellent, that's why I wrote that. Besides high pitch singing feels dated for me, even though I like '80s metal a lot.

Agreed, Warrel's low pitch is excellent.
I understand and partially agree with your comment about the high pitch singing.

I definitely need to rediscover this band. I can't work out why I haven't listened to Sanctuary in well over 10 years. After listening to the new album I still think "Into the Mirror Black" is by far their best.

Great Disappointment
