So....... all this time I complained about Spencer's vocals and no one told me Misha was doing things without him?! Shame on all of you! I'm getting this shit ASAP.

If you like the Periphery sound without Spencer you should also check out Misha's "Bulb" demos.

I still need to check out Good Tiger but I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of Elliot. But that could change.

@cosby his vocals are very dynamic, I sometimes can't believe how different he sounds on various projects

try Zelliack - Autumn in Analog, Tesseract - Eden 2.0, Good Tiger - All her own teeth

To clear things up in the review, I made multiple references to Misha because his work is more varied; not that there is necessarily more of it. Holcomb's signature playstyle is littered all throughout the album. However, Misha produced all instruments that were not guitars. Just meant for more stuff to talk about. And yes, this is instrumental!

Love that majestic lead in the chorus of Fjord

I prefer the old mix of Harrison Fjord (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyB7a_pKREE), the drums overpower the guitar in this one.

Seriously, I wish there was more stuff like that. Before I picked this up that was the only song I had heard and that lead alone pretty much sold me on the whole thing.

Durrzo, check out Enshine's latest album, Singularity! Not quite as dark in tone, or as theatrical in sound, but the synths that are used create massive (and majestic in a way) choruses. Try the first song on the album; you might enjoy it if you liked that aspect of Viscera!

I would enjoy this if the drums weren't so balls. Programmed drums will always sound like shit to me.

I could have gone for some harsh vocals or even some clean vocals if it wasn't Spencer. I liked this though even if it was a bit lacking in that department

Harsh vocals would have definitely worked well with this record. If cleans were used, i'd hope for harsh cleans similar to those used in Cattle Decap's latest, or even something like those used in FFAA's and Gojira's releases. But as an instrumental EP, I think the boys did a great job!
