It's worth it in my opinion. Much more interesting than their EP was.

I've listened to Transilvanian Hunger a few times, absolutely love it. Only Bathory I've listened to is the s/t, I need to check more of their discography

don't neglect under a funeral moon or a blaze in the northern sky

classiks

satyricon's dark medieval times and immortal's diabolical full moon mysticism are great albums to start with as well.

My dig would also be another really good starting point.

So many albums to choose from! Hawks, I'll give your recs a listen first, then move on to Mystle's.

And thank you, Asleep, I appreciate it! It's nice to know you and I are in the same boat when it comes to black metal.

It's not really as depressive/melo as I thought it would be. Some decent riffs at times, but overall it kinda becomes a mess.

Yeah I'm not feeling this too hard, it's decent.

As All Light Leaves Her is definitely a different experience than this.

I will get on listening to early Burzum as soon as I can!

I'm glad you guys gave the record a listen or two, despite you finding it decent or just bad. My hope is that I'll get better at reviewing records in this genre as I continue listening to more black metal.

It's not like a absolutely horrendous and there are a few good parts, but overall it's pretty run of the mill, and I didn't like the production

I appreciate the clarification, that does make sense (honestly, I could not tell this was run of the mill). And yes, the production was something I considered writing about. My ear could be leading me astray, but almost every track sounds like it was mixed differently, which created some inconsistencies and rough patches.

Yeah I noticed the mixing was really inconsistent from track to track as well
