I can name maybe 5 or 6 'industrial-metal' albums realeased in the past 10 years I've rated 4+. Unless you're telling me I should lower my standards... I can only drink so much tho..

industrial metal really did peak in the 90s-early 2000s tbh, you don't that kind of stuff anymore unfortunately.

... as for the industrial, beyond camping Metropolis' fb/bandcamp page I can't seem to find many labels that consistently put out. My sources are slim on that front.

Nice review that will certainly get me to listen to the album. Naming some of the better track could improve it. It's hard to know where to start with industrial albums sometimes.
I've never listened to this only because the cover is really not inviting. Of FLA I only know the four last (Echo, Impro, Arti, Civi), the Airmech soundtrack that I find awesome, Implode and Tactical Neural Implant. I discovered the band with Artificial Soldier so it's somewhat "hard" to discover their older material.
And guys, there's a new PIG out, it's good and nobody rated it on sputnik. It's wrong !
And also, Dr. Gonzo you complain about the songs' length but if truly they are too long and repetitive or hollow, nowadays you can edit them for your own appreciation on a programm. I did this for Manson's Pale Emperor and Fear Factory's The Industrialist and greatly improved my enjoyment of both albums (to a point I would never have thought possible).
And for Gojira's Magma and Pray, KMFDM's Respekt, Make Your Stand.
It's incredible how a nearly unlistenable track can become perfectly good when you simply remove or reduce the number of appearances of elements you dislike (when it's possible to do so without making it obvious of course)

I don't know, I think there is life coming back to the genre. There has been quite a few great industrial metal albums this year I've enjoyed. The only way is up.

The problem is there hasn't been an industrial metal album to come out that has pushed the genre. 3teeth's debut come pretty close I guess, and that Khost/Godflesh reconstuction EP was insanely good.
