That bit in Shining where the synth pattern exponentially speeds up is awesome, and Blush Response is straight-up gorgeous.
Heh, I felt the pitter-patter at the mid-section of Test Selection was what the track needed - was not all that fond of the first few minutes at first. You're right about it being a good one for repeated listens though, really enjoyable record.

have you heard james holden's the inheritors johnny? i feel like you might dig it. it's similar to this in the modular only single takes no computer overdubs sense, but has a more cohesive atmosphere

Would change the first clause of the opening sentence to "Mastery and spontaneity rarely, if ever, coexist in full form".

As is there are too many adverbs and it reads a bit weird, and having added "in full form" makes "truly" redundant. Other than that, lovely review SpotJohnny.
