This is okay, but I can't see myself revisiting any of these songs. Going to see them live next year, maybe that'll change things.
Also that is one ugly piece of album art.

Alright, I bumped this up to 3.5 since it has grown on me. "To Your Brethen In The Dark" and the title track are super good jamz.

After their horrible s/t I was doubtful as well. But it isn't a bad album.

So stale and flaccid. They have a top tier drummer who is constantly kept on a leash for this stupid ‘songwriting’ (read: attempt at mainstream) fixation Satyr has, which amounts to ditching practically everything great about their move to a more modern sound on Rebel Extravaganza and Volcano.
“Satyricon are always interesting and are always relevant.”
They haven’t been either for a long time and I’ll also add that there’s absolutely nothing ‘progressive’ about this release whatsoever, because I’d be all over it if there was.

I think this album is seriously underrated in Satyricon's discography. Have come to really love it. Particularly enjoy the drum dynamics on this album. Satyricon would be a completely different band without Frost. Much more nuanced than anything Satyricon have done for a very long time.
