This is quite awesome. Especially Crimson Cross is a jam. I did find some of the longer songs overstaying their welcome a little. I mean, long tracks are a given, but this album doesn't always seem to do quite enough to justify crossing the 8min mark.
The low avg. rating is very unjustified though, if you ask me. Should still easily go over 3.5.

Moose - please ignore the ridiculous avg. rating, you're gonna have a blast listening to this one. Production wasn't the favorite part of this album for me but I wrote the review based on a promo so I am very interested in seeing whether the sound is very much improved on a physical copy.
Nicodemvs - I can definitely see where you're coming from. I am a big fan of those guys' guitar leads and solos and the way their vocalist compliments them so I am not too bothered by the longer tracks. But I can see why someone may find them a bit overlong.

Okay, this has definitely grown on me. I don't know if it'll quite be a 4.5 but it's better than the debut for sure. Should have my review up sometime soon.

Awesome, Chris. Really interested in reading it.

I agree as well with the assessment and the rating of Nicodemvs.
Album reminds me of the final Veni Domine LP. Unbearable Sorrow, although derivative with respect to other album tunes, prompts me to spin it on repeat.

Pleasant and informative review manosg. It seems to me that you have included all the information necessary to describe the album, avoiding unnecessary metaphors.
You're one of the best sput reviewers mate.
Sounds like EPIC DOMINUS METALLICUS meets NWOBHM.
I'll check it out.

Interesting contrast between manos hype and low avg. At first listen I'm ready to dislike this.

"Interesting contrast between manos hype and low avg. "
well the average is similar to the one of the Tony Martin era Black Sabbath albums, which is kinda fitting.

Big thanks for the kind words Notrap, hope you enjoy the album.
I think that the low avg. is a product of the low number ratings and the fact that guys who are into this stuff haven't checked the album yet. I can see it rising to maybe a decent 3.5 in the future which is slightly higher than your typical Martin-era Sabbath.

Anders is a pretty fantastic vocalist (his Twilight and Lion's Share work are great). Any time a review can name drop Dio era Rainbow and Martin era Sabbath, you know the album is legit, at least to my ears
Excited to hear this

Pretty old school sounding .. though I can't say I'm digging this. So far the tracks are pretty similar to eachother and drone on a bit imo
