This album is a classic! Jack Black and KG tear it up on this album. 5outta5

Has anybody here ever heard them play live? They are sooooo much better when they're live. try downloading the song "cosmic shame" and any other live song by them.

Awesome CD and I can see why he didn't rate all the songs, seeing how there are 21 of them.

Jack Black is a living legend. School Of Rock is one of my fave films and the Jack Black Diary of the DVD is the funniewst thing I've seen in years. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean.If you get the chance to buy the DVD or download the MTV Jack Black Diary, do it, cuz you will laugh so hard.
This is a great album. Fave track are "Tribute," "Wonderboy" and "Rock your Socks off," or whatever one had the funky 70s groove. "A funky groove to fuck to!"
*an awesome cd.

The D rock the ****ing house. Jack Black is awesome, but it's not just him. KG rocks equally as hard, but he doesn't get as much credit. He's actually a pretty good guitarist. The songs are funny, but the thing is that they're also REALLY good songs, by "comedy band" standards at least.
It's kind of cool that they have a full band on the album, especially Grohl on drums, but I like them when it's just them and 2 guitars.
Oh and to whoever asked about their next album... there's a Tenacious D movie being made (Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny), and the soundtrack to that movie will be their next album. That's not for at least another year though, probably more.

Everyone is forgetting my favourite, "**** Her Hard!" thats so funny, i mean after a while its cliche' but first times it's hilarious! Thats ****in' Team Work!
|
| |
Actually, their next CD is under the current title "Unicorns and Rainbows", but that's just the temp. name, but might be the final name. I read at www.tenaciousjoes.com/tenaciousdmovie.html that the movie is coming out in April, 05 and the new CD WILL be the soundtrack to the new movie. And there's even talk about there being a Tenacious D Xbox game!!!

Dave Grohl actually came out with a CD where he plays with all of his favorite singers, Ronnie James DIO, the guy from Venom, D.R.I, C.O.C., Snake from Voi Vod, the King Diamond dude.....I wonder if it is any good or comical like the Tenacious D stuff.
|
| |
Actually, it's '**** Her Gently', you kind of twisted it a little there. I love the, 'What's your favourite dish? I'm not gonna cook it but I'll order it from ZANZIBAR!!!'.
Such random genius. On the Diary Of Jack Black, it shows them jamming on a song called the 'Taco Truck From Hell'. Hilarious
|
| |
^That's actually my favourite line from that track too.

It was called Probot..it's not a comedy album. It's decent though, though I'm fairly sure Dio isn't on it.

I have a copy of the album and it has a hidden song on it,
if you wait after City Hall has played through (track 21) it is silent for a bit and then plays a song called malibu!
great review and cool album. ROCK ON!

Tenacious D. rocks my world. Can't wait for the movie.

Jack Black is like a hero to me and my brother, and he has cd. He wont let me listen to it cuz hes a jerk, and my mom wont let me get my own cuz he has it. But i still hear it a lot and it rocks. My uncle was driving me home one night and that song, im not sure if this is the title,"greatest song ever" was on. The one about the dragon face off or whatever, and then when the solo came my uncle liked it, was amazed that an actor could rip like that. Its nice having something that you like that your parents tolerate too, so you can listen to it loudly. Also in most of Jack Black's movies, he plays. Like saving silverman or of course school of rock.
