So I will say, right off the bat I enjoyed the first song. It reminds me of torch runner with breakdowns. Then it gets mathy but it maintains that heavy hm-2 high distortion feedback throughout, which is an interesting idea but it just muddies up what’s going on. Especially had a hard time keeping up with what the vocals were doing with the heavy distortion on them. I’ll listen a couple more times but this is like a 2.8-3 range so far. Some great ideas, some really cool parts, but just an idea that is doomed to fail by choosing a more grind/crust production style.

Excuse my ignorance but why do you spend the first paragraph talking about a different band like it's these guys? Was there a name change?

Just listened to the title track on Spotify and damn. Most brutal thing I’ve heard in awhile. This shit needs more attention

I love how pristinely clear this is despite being so fucking disastrous.

no no you are fine, this is one of those cases where this reviewer is kinda just preaching to the choir. essentially, the main songwriter/producer/guitarist/etc for the band Frontierer also runs Sectioned. they are separate projects but bare many similarities, enough so that comparisons are a quick and useful cop out for cheap reviewers like yours truly! that all being said, if you like this album, definitely give Frontierer a look.
ily bizzzzz n scuroooo

The huge (METALCORE) does kinda do it a disservice tbh

this is great, but like you said it doesn't stand out too much from Orange Mathematics, esp. after hearing OM first

Skronks hard. Sure , there have been countless bands that have done this style to death, but this brings me back to a simpler, mathier time.
