ehh
don't get your hopes up for another magellan though
this is solo longstreth basically and the band has since transformed from indie-rock to indie-pop/R&B

That's okay, I'm all for something new

wow it's tyrael
umm maybe? how do you feel about ridiculously frenetic production?
album is bogged down a bit by sensory overload but otherwise its incredibly warm and dazzling

Sounds interesting, thanks :]

interested in hearing your thoughts on this as well!

You had me at frenetic production tbh ^^

oh ok, didn't know if that would deter or attract

I think it would scare most people away (don't quote me on this though) but I personally love music that does this sort of stuff. I generally have attention span issues and this helps keep me on my toes.

never really cared for them before before the last album, but this spiteful, r&b version of the band is compelling. excited to hear what longstreth has done with them this time.

some of these hooks and passages are like, teeth-gratingly obnoxious, but this is pretty great, one-dimensional indie blah
|
| |
Same problem I had with their last record, I like the songs but I can't stand the production and vocals. Reminds me of the new Panic record obnoxiousness-wise
|
| |
at least there's nothing as irritating as "work together"
|
| |
been a sucker for these guys since Bitte Orca. Another really great release. Feel It All is a beaut

i think this album is trying to do a bit too much, especially with its production. i miss how swing lo magellan sounded intricate and complex but not over-crowded... this has some successes but a lot of it just doesnt stick
