Cheers Butch! You gotta love amateur music writing coz those sort of sweeping generalised statements don’t lead to me getting marked down. Shit though, for me Rior Grrrl was powerful. I wrote another essay this term comparing Patti Smith to Mary Wollstonecraft and my first draft of that was littered with the same sort of sweeping statements.

Riot grrrl was amazing indeed. I think with Patti Smith, you’re allowed to go as big as possible.. she loved Rimbaud, and Rimbaud is the only poet who gets away with that sort of stuff.. id like to read that paper too..

I’ll dig that up for you sometime within the next week! I’m changing my degree from English to Law next year and, though i think it’s the right choice, I’m going to miss the freedom to write creatively so so much. I’ll just have to stop procrastinating and write more in my free time.
