This is in my discussion list but I don't know if I ever listened to it.

Mayhaps a fixin shall be in place.

Seems like you heard "Letting Go of Defeat" at some point at the very least. But it's definitely worth a jam, whether you've experienced it already or not.

And apparently I enjoyed it!

Well, I got 3 bandcamp pages of stuff to try to get through tonight. Let's do this.

I'm curious as to what this list is at this point haha, I'm guessing this and Glassing at least. Is it all 2019-specific?

Yeah, this and Glassing. Also going to check out White Ward after randomly clicking on that news article on the front page. Botb also mentioned Axis/Seraph The Light in the Amia Venera thread so I opened up it and Glassing at the same time to see what they were about.

Ditto on White Ward, meant to check their debut but lost track of it. That same article was an apt reminder for me as well.

I listened to the first song from White Ward's previous album and I liked it. I don't believe I have heard jazz with post metal before.

Well, I guess you could say Zapruder does a bit when they whip out the sax in some of their songs.

Post-metal in jazz probably exists but I can't bring an example to mind. I know black metal and jazz have been combined, if only in the sense that a sax is thrown in the mix lol

I just auto associate the sax with jazz, I think, ha ha.

So, I kind of wish the vocalist would have stuck with clean vocals. He feels very strained when he tries to do gritty and harsh vocals. Maybe he will improve his chops a bit for the next one.

True, they are certainly raw, but I find an appeal with that. If they were polished more it would certainly be beneficial though; it would probably improve the songs for me and attract those not as keen on less mature screams.

Mmhmm. Hopefully, he will get better with next release.

This may be an odd comparison, but the way he sings and delivers his lines, it reminds me of Casey from The Dear Hunter, but not as good.

Man, Casey would sound awesome fronting this band.

How do you feel about the songs as a whole?

Musically, this is pretty great. I really like the clean guitar parts. They are gorgeous.

I am just finishing the 15 minute track. The end is fantastic.

It really does surprise me how this just came completely out of left-field with little anticipation; it was just there and that was it.
