"I'm not really a fan of the last paragraph of this review. I dig this record yet I'm not depressed or anything. I even consider myself happy. Does this mean I'm doing it wrong?"

Lol no. Music can enjoyed in any mindset. But people who do suffer from mental illness will be able to relate to the album more than those who don't and therefore be able to enjoy it and connect with the lyrics and soundscapes more than the average listener.

Sputnik is probably the origin of my depression so for me the title is too meta to want to talk about this album here

By "average listener" I mean someone that is mentally safe and sound as well as someone who isn't too big into music that falls in the category of experimental or avant-garde. But if you check off those boxes and you still don't like the album, idk.

I'll give this another go later in the week - for now I neither like, nor dislike, this album

This album is nuts. Sometimes I hear Swans, sometimes I hear Converge. Unsettling af but very intriguing!

Michael Gira should get her on the next Swans record.

Listening to some cuts of this, prompted me to revisit outfits like Elend and Kreng.
