--If it's true that Josh was barely used on the new Architects record, that's fine this time. For next record though, it would be embarrassing to having such a technically skilled and creative force not contribute.--

I'm defintely an Architects fan, but I didn't know this guitar player was on their last album. Is he an actual member now or just a live guy?

Josh Middleton is a full time member of Architects

Full-time member. He said he makes nothing off Sylosis, so he'd been working other jobs before he agreed to join Architects after Tom passed away.

I have enjoyed some of their past work, but I've never found their modern techincal-thrashy sound to be too appealing. Debut had some awesome tracks though.

Record is good but not that special imo. Love Calcified. And hell yeah, they should include Josh in Architects' writing process!

Please do vermillionZ. Although different from each other, I consider the first two Sylosis records incredible.

They remain in a unique spot between the mainstream and the underground. Just solid stuff.

this band is basically just mid 2000s metalcore with normal thrash riffs. usually enjoy them doing kinda proggy melodic moments like on sands of time more than their attempts at proper thrashy tracks since they simply aren't that savage or aggressive

They've always riffed pretty good.

don't think they're great riffers tbh, but they are good lead writers and have good drum structuring

Really? They're known for their awesome riffs. That's one of the main traits that interest me with this band.

This is definitely better than I was expecting. But there’s some parts that just made me laugh because they sound like they could have been ripped straight out of the previous 2 albums.

I kind of agree with madbutch that this needs some more edge and teeth in its riffs

The riffs aren't as savage as some other bands, I agree. Still notable.
