"Makes me hopeful that only one of the singles is in your standouts. Really wasnt a fan of them, tho I do generally enjoy these guys. Will prob check this eventually"

The singles are a bit of a red herring because the rest of the album is noticably heavier for the most part.

@SonofSnow, yeah the last track is really nothing to write home about. Very a-typical album closer.

man the more I jam it the more I enjoy it, it is def one of their top imo and though the production could def be improved it still has great highlights

So far I like Enemy of the World and the Self Titled more but still some great jams here. A couple duds really kill the flow of the album sadly

Thanks! I quite like it but I could see how it comes off as unnecessary padding.

Which songs aren't you a fan off here? For me the only real dud is the closing track, which really doesn't add anything interesting to the album at all IMO.

@chuckles, other than the closer my least favorite here is probably "Be Good When I'm Gone". Their slow songs are so sappy and I just can't take them seriously lol

overall this is growing on me though. the middle of the album is a blast and "Mouth Full of Dirt" is my new jam

Chuckles, I came home from getting engaged this weekend and was going to write up my own 4.0 score for this album. Scratch that plan. You don't need to apologize for loving the band, I think they are genuinely inspired and the songwriting and instrumentality in the album are objectively good. There are a couple weak tracks that may be skips for me in the future. What does surprise me is how warm the reception is here, I expected a lot of people to be over the band and to be defensive over what I think is a good album.

I'm gonna have to eat my words here. honestly 10/12 of these songs slap.. that's good enough for me. and the slower songs are a bit better than I initially gave them credit for. nice to see them still going strong

If they're going to go heavier, I kind of wish they beefed up their production a little bit. Those riffs deserve a little more low end imho. Not a bad release on the first listen.

@sharkmsc

Congrats on the engagement! You're right on, very stoked to see this album sitting well with a lot of people here. Band is light years ahead many similiar sounding bands as far as the instrumentals are concerned.
