Exactly! Most times when i listen to a record I put it on and give it my full undivided attention to to borrow your words, soak it in. What i'm trying to say is that "less sophisticated" records still have a reason to be for me because they provide a soundtrack to those moments where I can't afford to give my full attention to what i'm listening to.

Thalassic: Same here. I definitely still consider Hate my favourite TAIM record (Cowards Throne though DAMN THAT SONG IS GOOD). Jammed it all through University so definitely has a special "value" to me. Holy War as my favourite song by them (Light Bearer) and still think it makes for a little more consistent listen (the deep cuts on Hate aren't that good). These last two were somewhat a disappointment. dear desolation is just so bland i hardly ever go back to it. They're still one my favourite bands to listen to though so fun
