I try to keep the number of recommended songs proportionate to the total on the album, so this one I only mentioned two. I really like that song but I prefer every other except Black Rose Immortal. You're also the first Opeth fan I've ever heard say TNATSW didn't suck compared to the rest of the album.

I like all the songs on this album almost equally. It all flows really well.

The album does indeed flow very well. The only part I thought was somewhat out of place was the end of To Bid You Farewell. The heaviness kills the song for me.

No way, I love how it was built up into that part. It's not even that heavy, it's just distorted but still incredibly melodic.

And Advent has been dominating my ears lately. From about 10 minutes until the end is some of Opeth's best older stuff ever.

I just heard this album... Oh my fucking god I have been missing out. Black Rose Immortal is the definition of music. The Night And The Silent Water, fuck, what a MOFO of a track. To Bid You Farewell... it doesn't get any more melodic, dramatic, and beautiful than this. Nectar is a heavy monster. Advent is the track I like the least, but damn, the bass work rules on that one.

And I have a bonus track called "Eternal Soul Torture", but I'm never listening to that again. It just pales in comparison to EVERYTHING on here. Every single track is a classic masterpiece. I had the feeling I was drowning in a pond with all the green light and the artwork. This album... is just amazing.

Yeah, I also got Orchid and Deliverance. But I checked this out first and I'm really happy about that.

I still don't have either Still Life or Damnation. That's the only two records I don't have by this band. (Not counting live stuff.)

It's defintly Opeth's most progressive outing and some just have a longer musical attention span than others. My favorite band is Dream Theater so this album is easy to listen to from start to finish. Even Black Rose Immortal is not a second too long in my opinion and it's probably my favorite off the album, but its hard to pick a best song off this album. All in all Morningrise is a freakin masterpiece.

I love Michael's weird raspy vox at the end of TNATSW:

Probably like most people my fav. track is To Bid you Farewell, this is one of their classics, and the album is generally just another one of their perfected works. This is definentaly an excellent album.

I love Black Rose Immortal and The Night and the Silent Water. Top notch Opeth right here, along with SL and BWP

Gotta say that though i havent had this album for too much more than a month, it's grown off of me. I just listened to it and found it boring as hell for the most part (except for to bid you farewell and the first half of black rose immortal)

Nectar has a sick outro and some awesome uitasr parts though, but i found advent and TNATSW extremely boring. Definately my least favorite opeth, though i still dont have orchid (but what i've heard from this makes me think it's better than this)

Stil Life> or equal to Blackwater Park>Ghost Reveries>>MAYH>>Delieverance>Damnation>>>morningrise

that's what i think now, and i really can't decide between SL and BWP, but i'm going with SL only becauser it has my favoirte opeth song on it (serenity painted death)
