In my opinion, brutal death metal, like Cryptopsy and Cannibal Corpse, is the most pathetic kind of the music there is. The blast double-bass beats are so uncreative, and the vocals just make me crack up. Growling can be good, like with Opeth or Amon Amarth, but this just sounds ridiculous. Brutal death metal isn't expressive of emotion or lyrical talent. The lyrics are only disgusting for the sake of it.
a) Brutal death metal is one of the most technical genres in existence.

b) Coldplay, Mudvayne, Fatboy Slim and Insane Clown Posse are most definitely far more technical.

I respect opinions. Yet your statement is hardly justified, ocelot. The irony is pretty saddening, I'm sorry. Don't be a prick about it.This Message Edited On 10.24.05

That's why it's so great.

I've heard Open Face Surgery and Serial Messiah, and although the production indeed stinks, it's pretty cool. I'll buy it when I get their other ones.

This is how it goes down in terms of musical skill:

Coldplay, Mudvayne, Fatboy Slim and Insane Clown Posse > Cryptopsy

Even new Worm...? I've never heard Mike. I don't mind Worm's new vox though, so I'd wager he's still better.

Mike would work in hardcore or metalcore, and that's alright. I like those genres. But he doesn't cut it like Wormie did. This Message Edited On 11.24.05

I must say, the guitars are really hard to distinguish on this recording. This is why bad production is a pain.
