This review is a great negative review for this album, aside from the metalcore arguments. I fail to hear any hint of core on this album whatsoever.

Great review SF...I'm actually quite a sucker for this album, and I can't really figure out why. Yes, at many points like you said, it's a blatant Metallica rip-off, but at the same time, I seem to enjoy this more than that sh*t-fest 'Ascendancy'.

who cares how much it was talked up bye the press your focasing on how much they sound like metallica. yes i agree but it still sounds fresh and new. also why are u complaining metallica are the best band ever and now trivium sound like then this is good cause now more bands might follow and then metal might go main stream and then un noticed bands will get a foot up.

Ive heard a couple songs from this album. They werent too bad I suppose, but I completely agree with you on the Metallica rip-off thing. I hate the vocalist, I enjoy the guitarists.

If I wanted to hear a Metallica album, I would buy, well, a Metallica album. I personally hate it when I buy an album, begin listening to it, and then begin to experience deja vu. Also, SF didnt just write about them ripping off Metallica, he wrote about them ripping off Metallica badly, as well as a lot of other things. No one has any problem with you liking the album though, you can enjoy it as you please.

Once again ShadowsFallen, you have written an exceptional review. Your opinion was well stated and backed up. I feel this band has become the 'easy to bash band' lately around the Sputnik metal community. I myself am a huge thrash metal fan (old and new) and I find lots to take in on this album in terms of guitar work and drumming. His vocals are not the best but I still think this album is descent enough. They are doing what Metallica cannot do anymore, regardless if they are bluntly ripping them off or not. There has been far worse metal albums that have come out this year, and I really don't feel that this is the worst. This Message Edited On 10.10.06
