Simply put, listening to this album makes me feel happy! Didn't like that autotune shit at first but now I'm ok with it.

Seeing Coheed this weekend and couldn't be any less excited. I'm gutted! Looking forward to seeing Thrice for the first time ever though.
Oh man, Window of The Waking Mind is an awesome track though, would love to see this one live!

Needs more "cutting the throats of babies born" and "die white girls"

I've seen them quite a lot but still usually get excited to hear the new stuff live. I'm just not really arsed this time round for some reason. It's not that it's bad because it isn't, I'm just not hyped at all.
But they might be overshadowed by the fact I'm seeing Thrice for the first ever time in that same show lol.

I skipped Coheed coming to DC because even though I enjoy this album I just didn't care to hear these songs live. Wasn't worth the money IMO.

The songs from this album are actually really fun live! Especially Shoulders, surprised how much that comes to life in a live setting. Stoked we got to hear Window of the Waking Mind too, was not expecting that!

Bizarrely had a very similar experience in Birmingham for Window of The Waking Mind lol. Anything remotely uplifting at a Coheed gig results in the wildest mosh pits haha

I heard Shoulders live when I saw them last year and I hate that song. Lol. Window of the Waking Mind live would be tight but I saw the setlist and didn't want to spend $125 per ticket for the VIP jawn so I just got a refund and skipped the show.

How is it possible to rate this below 3.5? The reviewer really needs to give this album another chance.

Album art is giving me Ender’s Game vibes and it pisses me off

Characters are arranged to make the Keywork shape, just realized that

I still need to check this. As someone who adores SSTB-GAIBS4, how should I approach this? Last Coheed project I dove into was Ascension.

Well I think they've had a sharp decline since Ascension, which I'd put at the same level as their first 3 albums.
It's kind of hard to say how to approach this because they've released some butt rock numbers, like Shoulders on here, but Comatose and Naianasha are classic Coheed. I say just go in with an open mind. A couple of the songs only work well in the context of the album but it's a grower IMO.

@vult - There are some really cool tracks where they experiment with their sound, especially "A Disappearing Act", but then they have songs played way too safe like bland radio rock–unfortunately I include "Comatose" among those.
So yeah, *very* open mind because they don't sound like they used to on their earlier work.
No idea how they're gonna make 3 more albums if the material is a continuation of this and Vaxis 1. I've been finding Travis' old band Davenport Cabinet more interesting lately.

I need to check these guys out a little more. They seem like they'd be right in my wheelhouse. I've only heard some stuff off their first three albums.

This band was great live. Helped a guy crowdsurf and hurt my arm shoving someone back into the pit 👍
