Metallica's earlier albums introduced me into metal and I'm forever grateful.

This is my favourite album, most of the songs here were the first I learnt when I started playing guitar.

Nice review as well *thumbs up*

Metallica's earlier albums, primarily this one, introduced me to metal as well. This album is second to almost none

I almost got this the other day. I like Metallica as much as the nexy guy, but I'm only interested in Kill Em All, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All and this album.

Bought it when in first came out in 1984. First intro into the best band in the world ever. Puppets is better, that is just the best albums recorded in the eighties, but this is sooo damn good. I am still a thrasher, 24 years later, still love the new bands that come into the genre, but you cannot beat eighties thrash. metallica, slayer, onslaught, kreator bathory, etc etc.

best track, probabaly creeping death, but the version of call of cthulu on s and m is sooo good.

also, my funeral track, fade to black.

aw man you were on such a good streak with all the new stuff you were getting too

It should make you happy that along with the two Metallica albums, I picked up In Keeping Secrets: Silent Earth 3.

Fade to Black and Creeping Death are some of the best tracks written in the 80's. Not to mention, this is the best album of the 80s.

I like both MoP and Justice better than this. However, this has some killer tracks (all except Escape and Trapped Under Ice, pretty much).

yeah, I think every song on MoP is good, as well as Justice, but the awesomeness of MoP is a little more.

I've actually grown to like this more than MoP. Both are 5's...its just that RtL is just a bit more consistent.

I think the exact opposite to you. MoP is more consistent to me than RtL.

I have MOP and RTL both rated 5's, deservedly so in my opinion, but I do prefer this. I think theres more to like on this album. Escape is a pretty catchy song, and Trapped Under Ice is basic thrash, none of which I would call anything less than good songs. In Master of Puppets, I find it difficult to sit all the way through songs like Disposable Heroes, TTTSNB, Damage Inc, and Leper Messiah, although all are incredible songs. Same goes for Justice and some of the tracks on there. Its a little too much of the same thing, while on this, its much more creative and consistently appealing.
