While 'Forever' was probably not to the liking of most listeners that frequent this website, I'm with you Steve; some good ol' fashioned power balladry can never hurt. They attempt it on a few songs here & very much fall short.

yah, Forever is a pretty nice song. Sorry Davey, Idk how is missed the point about "I Almost Told You That I Loved You" in the review since I read it with great interest. Yah you did such a good job on this that there is no point for me to make one anymore. Also I'm with you on "State Of Emergency" and the fact that this is probably the standout rack of the album. The singles were ok (average), but as a whole this album doesn't really show of with anything. I just think that Papa Roach tries too hard to be all out 100% rock'n roll

Lame album. Torrented it months ago and wondered if it would grow on me before the reviews came out. Knowing it would get hammered, I thought I could see something defensible in it if I kept listening. I can't. A very, very weak effort. Change or Die is a good track, since it sounds a lot like lovehatetragedy, and I was one of the very few who enjoyed that album. State of Emergency is good too. Even still, the decent tracks really aren't that good.



And I can't even say I'm the least bit surprised.

I was about to listen to this but then the files got corrupted for some reason so I'm going to delete it.

I only liked these guys for a little while during my nu-metal phase (2001-2003, good times), but I have to say I like the song Hollywood Whore.

I saw the cover and wasn't paying attention and thought it was Immortal. Was kind of going, "What the hell is this pose?"

"I Almost Told You That I Loved You" might just be the worst song title I've ever heard.

Listening to this more closely made me drop to 3.5. Still probably overrated in the mind of most, but I hold Papa Roach to higher standard, so a 3.5 is a considerable disappointment

No worries metalstyles15. Like I said, I did sort of want to write more about that song, but didn't want the review to get too long. Thanks for the agreement on 'State Of Emergency' as I actually wasn't certain that I should have included it in the highlight tracks. It was probably the cut that impressed me first up, but started to grow off me a little. 'Nights Of Love' is probably the grower in amongst this lot.



JimmyPopAli, I almost had the exact some mindset as you. Because of the rather catchy nature of the band's past, I was just waiting for a number of songs on here to grow on me... And hardly any did. While I am not a big fan of lovehatetragedy, I agree that 'Change Or Die' is similar to the better songs off of that album, so well said.



JignleDeath, I think the songs are corrupted full stop. Maybe you were hearing the proper album! ;-)



Conor, if you like 'Hollywood Whore', give 'I Almost Told You That I Love You' a listen also as they aren't too dissimilar.

No, I know it doesn't sound like DM, I've heard Hollywood Whore and that was quite enough. I did enjoy Infest though, all those years ago.

I must say that it is at least good to hear most people around here admitting to liking 'Infest' back in the day. I thought there may be some selective memories to cover up some elitism.
