You think they can beat Colors? I have trouble seeing them beat it, although I had trouble seeing them beat alaska technicality wise, but they did it so yeah.

Great review, man. While I loved this album, it was kind of a buzzkill after I had already listened to Colors. This album was much more Hardcore-oriented and less Progressive influenced than Colors, but it's still an awesome album.

thanks man, this is more hardcore oriented, but it's got better song composition and the album flows better imo.

Walking through the woods, just taking random paths to see where they lead, a very refreshing and interesting experience.

it should read, "can be a very"
Not to keen on taking adventures through the woods after what happened with Waking the Cadaver.

Summary is a bit awkward but other than that its a decent review.

Btw BTBAM sucks, vocalist is one of the worst I've heard.

Eh....to each his own, but it is undeniable that they are a very talented band. I personally like Davy. His vocals are pretty much flawless on Colors and Alaska. This album, however, requires more of a tolerance for hardcore, but that's not really a problem for myself.

Please explain how they lack talent?

..Davy?

And they lack talent because they can barely get a coherent song together.

Clarification: BTBAM have technical talent, but no songwriting talent (or they lost whatever they had)

LOL! I have no idea where in the hell my head is at tonight. Why I just confused Tommy for Davy, I have no clue. However, there are a lot of bands who are extremely talented at songwriting who write songs with many different sections and styles, such as Dream Theater and Opeth. Between The Buried and Me uses the same style of songwriting, just with a different approach. It would be different if the songs didn't flow or if things just seemed forced, but with BTBAM, they don't.

Just because it's a style doesn't mean they can't suck at it.
Which, they do.

Exactly, just because they're playing all the notes in the scale doesn't mean that the song isn't garbage.

Really now Red? Someone who agrees its a classic. Yeah BTBAM doesn't have crappy songwriting, they just don't use standard songwriting so some people shun it. And Zippermouth, to say they have no technical skill is a very very very retarded statement, their technical prowess is off the wall.
