Not surprisingly, Dougie has gone suspiciously quiet... & everyone knows he tried to pass himself off as an alternate user-name of mine when he first arrived here at Sputniksville.
NOT AGAIN DAVEY!
oh yeah, and Dougie man, you're a surfer!?
you just risked making an enemy on principle. i hate surfers. although music-geek surfers may be cool. but tendy pretty-boy prep surfers, like we get round my parts, are DEFINITELY not cool. you know what i'm talking bout. kids, never older than 18 or so, dressed in the latest from Gap and carrying blonde swooning girlfriends. their technique is limited, but they like to 'talk tech' to impress the babes.
and worse of all, they don't leave any for the non-surfer, scrawny and bespectacled (and older) music geeks :p if you're the old-school kind of surfer, though (rugged, laid-back, amiable and cool) you have my respect. for me, those are the *real* surfers.
Haha, calm down calm down! I am probably the biggest old school surfer their is, I only surf vintage boards, like double fin thrusters and 9ft mals!! I dont have blonde curly locks, I have straight brown hair and I wish I had hot blonde babes swooning over me, ah that would be alright I guess! I could say I am a music geek, considering I have been playing drums for 12 years. I would be the most laid back person there is, except come tourist time, then I vent a bit of anger hahaha.

sgrevs, they are likely to be the 2 lead singles that you have heard on radio. While 'Science of Fear' polarizes opinion a little, I think it's safe to say that if you didn't like 'Sweet Disposition', you won't like the album.
Thanks metalstyles & Pedro.
As for Dougie claiming he is a surfer with straight brown hair, everyone knows they do NOT exist, so why even bother trying to lie to everybody. ;-)

Haha, your the king of stereotypes there my friend

A wise man once said "stereotypes are so called because they're usually true".
Now just because you are trying to get us on a technicality that your hair is NATURALLY brown and straight, doesn't count. Your weekly perm & peroxide sessions supersede such triviality.

Ugh, I now am taking the side of ReturntoRock, I couldnt think of anything more disgusting! haha. Now I think about it, I hardly know one person that fits the surfing stereotype as well as that guy of 'The Shack'

Off topic I know, but I'm thinking of writing a review again!
should I do an all out positive 5 star review for a band I just found out about? or a very negative review of one of my all time favourite bands?

Album Rating: 3.5
There you go Pedro, I got Dougie to agree with you. Mission accomplished.
Croc, I would say that you should first do whichever review you think you have least chance of changing your mind/rating on. That way, you can let the other album possibly sink in a little more. That would probably favour the negative review being done first, because you could be getting over-excited over this new band you have found.

That's true. I've had the positive album well over 2 weeks, but i've had this stinker album for well over a year on my ipod. (thank god I didn't buy it!)
|
| |
Hey, you could review 21st century breakdown!!!
I'd buy THAT for a dollar

Well there you go Croc. The length of time you have had the albums makes it final... Unless it's Def Leppard. If it is, don't do the review at all. Haha.
Somehow Asiatic, I don't think it's going to be Green Day either.
|
| |
lol it's not Def Leppard, close tho! It's a Judas Priest album that I wish was never released to the world.
|
| |
Alli, i bet it's "JU-GU-LAY-THORRRRRR!!!!" either that or Demolition.
Davey, thanks
Dougie, over in these shores pseudo-surfers are mostly brown-haired with quasi-emo haircuts and knee-lenght Billabong shorts. Oh, and they're all about 15 or so, and they think they rule the roost.

Phew, I thought it was a 50-50 chance there for a second. Ok, I'll look out for it Croc.
Where are you again Pedro? West coast of U.S?
|

Portugal. Waaaaay over on the Western tip of Europe. Look for it in the map, it's next to Spain
|

Haha yeah Jugulator is so bad, luckily demolition was listenable.

Oh man, how could I forget you were in Portugal Pedro. Sorry about that. And I know where it is, I just spent 6 weeks in Europe remember. Unfortunately that did not take me as far as Portugal. Barcelona was as far south-west we got.
Oooh, I must keep an ear out for that 'Science of Fear' remix. I have not heard it as yet.

Whatever you think Davey. Did you hear Birds Of Tokyo set live on triple j from Splendour last night? It was pretty solid, liked what I heard.
No I have no emo hair, and I wear a wetsuit. Hence I am the non stereotype surfer from both sides of the globe.

Darn it Dougie, I missed it. Those are the kind of things I wish would be advertised!
By the way, you forgot to state Birds of Tokyo > Karnivool. Haha.
Actually, how the hell is Ian Kenny doing it? He was touring with Karnivool just the other week & now he is playing a large festival with BoT. The guy is Superman.

Karnivool > Birds of Tokyo
And his voice sounded splendid as per usual. Being in hibernation for 4 years, (except BoT gigs) I suppose he just wants to tour his arse of, much like Andy Schleck. (lame Tour de France pun)
