Tin Cans and Strings for You is great, but Water & Solutions is a classic to me. This, on the other hand, is boring as fuck.

I wouldn't say that this is boring (it is in my Top 25), it's just not the brooding album that Tin Cans and Strings For You or the catchy post-hardcore that Water & Solutions was.

I just found it extremely boring, Willie. Tin Cans and Water & Solutions were something different to me, at least at the time. This just seemed like they did whatever just to put out a record.

If you read the liner notes to this album, it sounds like that's exactly what they did. Lots of compromises and lots of "walking on eggshells" with each other, but it turned out good IMO. If they can make another album after this and be comfortable with each other this time I think they can be excellent again.

I hope they do. I know they've had some major in-fighting since pretty much day 1, so I hope they finally put shit aside and make GREAT music again.
