Tortoise is an amazing expiremental post-rock band. Some of you may hear the genre post-rock and think it's boring, trust me I did the same thing just a few months ago

Such a cool album. It has such a unique, experimental feel to it.

Although Tortoise has no vocalist there music is still very effective. If you need lyrics or a vocalist than don't get this album because there are none.

I'm new to this band but will definitely check out this album.
I read somewhere it's kind of similar to the band Radian (which I love, they also mix experimental electronics with post-rock).

they kind of remind me of a jazz band that decided to play post rock

Yes after first listen I can say it sounds like it. It's very jazzy sometimes. But I love when they experiment with electronic sounds like in the songs Jetty and Almost Always Is Nearly Enough.

I was really in very good mood and then I decided to listen to it again after many months without giving a real chance, and I got very tired, which is not a good sign. I couldn't get past the first 5 songs, they're boring, very uneventful, lifeless and repetitive (best example for annoying repetitiveness is the first song, problem is, I don't like the main part very much that is repeated again and again).
Btw I find jazz bands with no singer much more interesting, but I just don't feel this album at all. I really tried but it doesn't speak to me. Should I really go on with this album, because the first 5 songs already made me so tired? are the following songs worth it?
I really want to like this album but I have big problems with it.
Can anyone recommend me a Tortoise album that is more eventful and with more happening? Want to give a different album of them a chance.
