Just about all modern DM is rehashed stuff, like deathcore, the difference is is that people overlook this in death metal and act like it's all fresh and new, but it's little better than deathcore. This band are better than most however

These guys have always been about as interesting as 2-ply toilet paper. It's better than 1 ply but ultimately it's still just for wiping poop off with.

I feel like expectations for death metal are a bit high here. I mean, once you've heard the best, it doesn't really get any heavier or brutal or whatever; so either you enjoy new songs that have a similar sound, or get into more creative, post-metal, progressive stuff.
But well produced, solid metal like this can still be appreciated. Kinda like how I still go see action movies even though they are cliched - they are fun ^^

Why does he need to talk about individual instruments? They're all playing together at the same time; right? Also, if he did a good enough job talking about the entire album then he shouldn't need to mention specific songs... wouldn't you rather read a review and get interested in the album based on the more general aspects, and then experience the specifics for yourself?

This album has some good tracks but overall it was ok. I kind of had high expectations for this due to the first track I heard (In Service Of Time) and the cover art.
