It's an ok track. Catchy, but ridiculously basic. Also the video is pretty cool but at the same time makes me want to throw up.
|
| |
^theres nothing wrong with being basic
|
| |
i havent herd the whole album but i can tell u that "7 nation army" and "the hardest button to button" r the best two songs from the white stripes
|
| |
Using basic as a reason for a song not being good is stupid. Many of the best songs ever are very basic...

This is one of the best albums I have ever listened to. My roommate at college showed me some B-sides and I downloaded a lot of their stuff. I really like all of their songs. The drumming is not supposed to be spectacular. Jack always talks about how he wants it to be childish and unrefined and I think it works with their bluesy style. Also I don't remember who commented on wondering what they could do with a bass player but I think with the addition of a bassist they'd sound a lot like Led Zeppelin.

Maybe my favorite album from my favorite band. Jack White is the best at what he does, and doesn't get enough respect (well if you don't read NME lol). They are hated by indie kids because they "sold out", and they are to werid for most mainstream rock fans. However in the end I believe this band will be one of the most important of this genaration. Good review also. This Message Edited On 06.22.06

I refuse to believe they sold out, I just think they got better, as most of their old material sucked, imo.

Jack White does what he wants, GBMS shows that fact perfectly. One radio friendly song, most indie kids like what is hip and cool, forgetting real bands in the process. I do not believe they sold out either, but I do not believe their old material "sucked" though.

^Rare, but I agree with you. White's soloing is insane.

Brilliant masterpiece of an album.
Again, I agree with someone who posted earlier, their debut album comes a close second, but this is outstanding.
So full and rich, and brimming with talent. The simple drums suit it well, and the fairly simple guitar just makes it seem like someone else could have made these songs ages ago, but missed their chance.
Brilliant, buy this album!

I happen to love this album. Jack is a diverse and talented guitar player and his lyrics are actually really clever. The white stripes feel sincere and down to earth on their albums and for two people this is quite impressive.
