as much as I love Death (which is a lot obvs), Darkthrone has quantity on them. along w/ some truly amazing albums. and everything they've done is at least solid. impressive imo for a 16 album discog

A decent album by the band's standards but I wouldn't say it's quite their best from this period: Their previous album "Hate Them" for me seems a little more consistent. That said, this album does the job very well enough and as always proves that Darkthrone can't do wrong when they're playing in their comfort zone. A few of the tracks here disappointed me a little because of the slower parts which seemed to slow down, but the fast-paced fury and chaos in songs like 'Sjakk Matt Jesu Krist' and 'Hate is the law' make up for this.

interesting, i feel the opposite. i find this a lot more consistent than hate them and i like much more tracks on here. tracks 2-4 stick out the most for me. still you cant go wrong with any darkthrone

I really enjoy this record, you could tell they were in a time of transition. Also, I will always have a soft spot for this record because it was the first album they released after I became a fan. Was so stoked for it in the weeks before it was released.

An that's what I like about it, i feel Darkthrone is better on their records that are more consistent, focused and conceptualized. I do however always seem to lump this record and Hate Them together, probably because it was their return to form records in the eyes of most and they were released only a year apart.
