Most bm bands were only pretending to be 'satanists' to rebel against norway's christian tradition... Very few bm bands actually maintained that satanist theme afterwards, except for like Dimmu Borgir but no-one takes them seriously anyway :]

O yea Atari you might want to check out Venom too they are hardly BM but coined the term and the satanic imagery and they thrash hard which is something you like

I'd recommend starting with something like Alcest

Neige mixes BM with shoegaze which might make it more 'entry-level' than the others

All my hate towards that album can be summed up with a simple sentence which is also a soundoff of that album on sputnik:

'I don't really like Black Metal, but this band is awesome.'
