I just said they were generic, not bad. I like this band any many other bands that sound like them and I have no problem saying they are generic. I like the guitars on this album, the drums are ok, not as technical as before. The bass like almost any new record is rarely heard, but I've made my peace with that aswell as with Alex's screams, he is just not a very good singer.

Steerpike its not just because there one of my favorite bands and frankly i don't give a flying **** what you think about them, i just think everyone should stop ripping on them or anyother band just cause you don't like a song. thier really talented artists and deserve respect.
I tried listening to at least a dozen songs of theirs. The only positive thing I can say is that the guitarists need to find a band with better direction. Their lead screamer is horrible. Brandon Saller could be a decent vocalist if he devoted more time to practice with a professional voice coach. So what do they need the dinosaur sound-alike for?
And need I remind you that you told us we're not allowed to criticize until we've accomplished the same, if not more than them? How high do you have to be to think that's even a moderately decent argument?
Obviously, you do care what I and others think, or you wouldn't have had your little tantrum. This Message Edited On 04.06.06

Damn Steerpike, you told him. It's people like that who give Atreyu fans a bad name, but the band doesn't really help that much either.
|

True. I'm sick of people trying that whole 'well, you couldn't do better,so you have no right to criticise them' argument. It's very popular in Atreyu threads, and also Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein.
|
| |
It's popular in every thread when a retarded fanboy sees someone doesn't like his favorite band.

I can't really get into this album, but I'm digging the band. They're actually a bit "screamo", if you will.

No. No they're not. They're metalcore. Just metalcore. Nothing to do with emo, nothing to do with screamo. Metalcore.

i already got crapcore and the first in it was Atreyu but they redemmed them selves with this album to me so now in the crapcore genre is...*drumroll* Flyleaf

Atreyu's screamer isn't very good but doesn't the drummer also sing? Well he sang the chorus for "The Crimson", one of my favorite Atreyu songs.
|
| |
Yes, but he still needs more practice. On the songs I heard, he's really trying to stretch out his range, and obviously feels very uncomfortable doing it.
|
| |
^^^I agree. He's better than the wretching screamer, who's almost as bad as Hawthorne Heights's screamer. But I can stand Alex a bit more.

I saw these guys at Taste of Chaos a few days ago and I have to say, the guitarists have some sweet riffs, but the rest of the band and especially the vocals, didn't do it for me.
Plus the singer was saying crap like "How are we doing here in the city of love?" and "Don't do drugs. Stay in School?"
I mean cmon, I didn't pay $35 to watch a Mr. T after-school special.
