This is getting surprisingly good reviews so far. I expected a more mixed-to-positive reception from critic.

I think perspective is very important for a review. Had this been the end product of hyped up record that had been announced years in advanced and had months of anticipation building up to it's release people would view this album through a completely different lens. Personally, I love the jam vibe of this record (reflected in their set at P4K Fest playing Star Wars in it's entirety) and how I approached this as a band having fun, playing music and simply hitting the record button.

Yeah, I agree with that. Since there wasn't a ton of hype, people are maybe more accepting of the album as it is. Personally, I think it's very strong, but I can see the style of the album not being particularly acclaimed.

Got to say surprised at the reviews, this isnt even as consistent as wilco (the album) to my ears. people love surprises

This album is about equal to Wilco (The Album), which I think was properly received. That this is getting notably more positive reviews so far is kind of strange imo
