I have always been a massive Thrice fan, embracing the band's evolution over the years; they just know how to create great music. With that said, this album has a mainstream radio-rock sound, especially on certain songs, that doesn't do a whole lot for me. Blood on the Sand is basically something Nickelback could have written, with a chorus that just begs for airplay. Black Honey is better, but I don't love it. The writing seems to be lazier with a lot more repetition.
