It cracks me up that someone actually complained about the mixing on this album, specifically the bass. I'm listening to this on shitty headphones and even I can hear the bass is massive on Aura. Give someone a chance and they'll take it to complain about Periphery.

Yup. That and Ride The Illusion are my favorites so far. Cracks of Light is awesome too.

This is definitely a bit more mainstream than their older material, which is dissapointing. The weird vocals are less present, the production is way too clean and their sound overall has been dumbed down. That being said, it's still a decent album, even if it's 'diet' sikth.

After listening to their discog I gotta say comparatively their transition to this sound reminds me a lot of System of a Down's transition on their last two albums. Granted I realize there's not a ton of genre overlap in that comparison, but both bands started off more chaotic (especially vocally) and became more mainstream sounding. Main reason I make that comparison is the overlapping high pitch vocals like in Century of the Narcissist? which reminds me of the vocal overlapping on the chorus of Violent Pornography. However, I don't think that transition is a bad thing per say I enjoy the transition in both cases this was just something I noticed.

It will be my first official comment upon a review of a music album.

First of all, the reviewer did not review the content.

People give ratings but doesn't even explain their likes/dislikes, which points out to me that most of the listeners here are simple futile superficial rythms addicts.

If you can't perceive that this album is a concept about our definitions of modern reality, you should not listen to Sikth. The complexity of their art is representing the aspects of existence.

It's sad, but I must say that most of you all are but ignorant alienated sheeps, including many of the reviewers on this website.

If you expected something indisguishible from their previous works, you are vile and small. Understand the call for a convergence of humanity. A singularity of the collective. Bunch of uneducated selfish fools

Album RATING : OVERALL ; 4.5 / Instrumental ; 4,2 / Vocals ; 4,8 / vibes 4

flash and gimmicks? these are brilliant minds composing this stuff. Try playing some
of the riffs... When did this place turn into lambgoat? this album is genius.

From a guitar standpoint, this is their best record.

The choruses are also the strongest they've ever been, but the new guy's harsh vocals could be improved.

Great review, justified rating. This album sounds like they made a deliberate attempt to recreate their old sound, but instead it sounds like they ripped themselves off by doing everything again, just with a much lower degree of originality or identity.
