i'd give Noel more credit for actually being ambitious, Liam didn't even write half his record, still has some bangers though

I am a big fan of Oasis and Noel solo carrer but in some way i can't listen this album even when I listened it docens of times. I explain my self: the record is so loud!! The low frequency mess up some songs, fort knox, holy mountain, keep on reaching are examples, I feel I listen the album in a very old and cheap headphones in the 80's. I hear Holy Mountain live in youtube and sounds better than in the album. The interludes sounds as should sound the whole disc. However it seems a great album especially The Man Who Built The Moon, such a great song! if only it had been recorded in another way...
Sorry my bad english I am not bilingual properly

This isn's as bad as Liam's album.
It's bad though.

Doubt this is a 1.5 based on his previous stuff

Don’t be a penis
Doof dude

It's a Noel album, of course it will be better than any shit Liam makes.

Hidden track isn't bad, just needs a vocalist to bring it to life, Noel sucks the life out of it and not in any sort of 'everybloke' good way.
Sad thing for Noel is his strength is writing 'simple seeming' songs that need an emotive, interesting singer (ideally not Liam) rather than this 'all the bells and whistles / padded out guff' - which just smothers him to death.
Strange gig for David Holmes, take the money and run mate, hide this at the bottom of the ol' CV.

"People who write books are fucking idiots" - Noel Gallagher 2018
|
| |
Yeah he literally means all books, everything ever written not things like Nadia Sherwana-Simpletons day in the life of a handbag.

Production is dreadful on some of the tunes on this. Couldn't get into it as much as his previous two records but still not bad.

For something that proposes itself to be psychedelic phantasm, Who Built the Moon is nothing but a self-indulgent attempt to mimic Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour. Unfortunately Gallagher has neither the wisdom nor talent to pull something as stratospheric as this off. The cover is equally uninspiring with very little attempt to create something that might be visually stimulating if not musically stimulating. Indeed, it must have taken all of three minutes to produce this cover on photoshop. If I sound very critical it is because I once respected what Oasis could do as a band and what they could create musically; but listening to Who Built the Moon dispels all of my notions as to what Gallagher was once capable of doing.

I think listening to Noel explain the writing and production of this album really helps show the brilliance in it. David Holmes beings out a good side of his creativity.

new songs growin on me. goddamn oasis fans hate em tho
|

Dream is All I Need to Get By is a good un. i think it's got enuf melody to hit with fans of traditional Noel

Noel has well and truly musically lost the plot at the min. He’s doing what he wants which is fair fucks but Christ he’s churned out some bilge recently.
I dig this album though.
