"what riffs"
*facepalm*

Sorry, Treb. I can't turn it off, especially when it's front-and-center.
Never really understood that line of reasoning anyway. "This aspect of the song is demonstrably weak, but you shouldn't value it anyway, so it doesn't count."
wat?

Not every element of a piece of art is valued equally, it's subjective
To me, lyrics don't matter much. It's the opposite with film. A film can be gorgeous but have shitty dialogue and I'll hate the whole film, but it could have great dialogue, but not great cinematography and I can still love it. Each element is not weighted equally
Plus to me the lyrics aren't THAT bad, I think they're sort of charming, I mostly tune them out anyway though. All lot of it is how he says them with the melody too, like the lyrics on Paul's Boutique make no sense, but it's the way they say them, idk

No, I get it. That's fair.

"The technical tapping riffs and arpeggios are still ridiculous"
You REALLY oversold the "technical" playing on this album.

Get dweedled, bitch.

I don't wear a hat so suck my open tuning tapping.

I remember liking Celebrate better but I owe it a fresh listen (update: eh, it's about on the same level as this)
Caution is still the best song on here by far

This album is basically Celebrate 2.0. In my eyes it is on par or even slightly better than Celebrate. They stick to the sound they obviously love and in the case of this band it's a good thing.
