The word "symphonic" in your description will prevent me from checking this out

Hahahaha yeah Spirit told me about him a little over a week ago. Had to digest a bit before reviewing.

I think, perhaps, the review ought to have been fleshed out a bit more. That is, in part, because your writing is so clean and readable and nice; but also, the introduction and conclusion feel aimed at people unaware of or unfamiliar with black metal (i.e. me), whereas the mid-section relies on prior knowledge of the genre for its descriptions to make sense. I think it's good to cater to both audiences -- those initiated and those not -- though I wish both discussions were ellaborated upon and the review's frame was blended a little better.

I hope 2019 will give us more albums like this!

The album is very-very good, reminds me (a lot) of the '95 Migthiest & Depressive Silence split album.

Oh, and fun fact: it's made by the same guy who's behind Old Sorcery. What an incredibly talented dude...

Gotta love Hawks reviews. Straight from the heart and no syllabus-searching bullshit. The album is really that good and it’s a one-man band? That’s impressive. Will check if their is a bandcamp page.
