This was one of my 'to check' releases when it dropped, but got caught up in other things since. I'll get around to it eventually, glad I 'signed' up for the thread as a reminder.

Shame the sax sounds so distant though, they mixed it much better in the debut. This is one of my 2019 favorites too but I can't help but feel that, as ambitious as they've grown, Deviant Shapes from the debut still nailed the balance between dark jazz and bm better than anything on here.

nice josh

Urgh. Hipster metal with one-dimensional vocals. They really dare promoting this as ferocious BM. I highly dislike this...

Needs more tonal musicality.

Gonna need more discussion on this good album.

I initially passed on this because it seemed like a bit of a novelty. I'm listening now and enjoying it. Dark jazz/sax is more of a wrinkle in the sound than full on gimmick.

I'll file these guys under 'one to watch' for sure, not fully sold on it but there's some definitely potential here.

I like.

cool. sax seems to just be there just cuz, but cool. there was another bm band that incorporated sax, but I can't remember the name
|

I find it funny how many people have trouble with the sax.
