I agree with this seeming like a big step up in terms of the songwriting. I went through their entire discography again over the past few days and honestly this might be my new favorite from them (although Proponents might still be better). While I still enjoy their first few albums, they weren't quite as a good as I remembered.

This is the best album this band has made by a wide margin. They had never fully clicked with me before. I think what made the difference here is the Alkaloid influence. It sounds like Arsis + Inferi + Alkaloid (and I was never a huge fan of Arsis or Inferi). Still deciding my final score
