Yeah it’s fine. I jammed this and forever again and my opinion hasn’t really changed. Just aggressively mediocre hardcore with some nu metal sprinkled in.
I Am King was definitely worse than their “Kids” output but there’s some good shit on there

gotta keep in mind that this wasn't really a thing in 2014 (correct me if i'm wrong) and the closest thing was metallic hxc.

How you doinnnnn”
Jeez man that’s that’s so much to keep up with Lucca. Good luck with that man! I’ve been chilling, been going to some shows, watching movies with my friends, things are going pretty well for me

i'm honestly a little surprised how many people don't really like this. when i am king came out I thought it was kinda average compared to their past work and my interest in code orange kinda died. I randomly checked this out though and ended up enjoying it.
It's not groundbreaking but I dig the industrial nu-metal/rock feel. I admit it's more accessible sounding at times than some of their past work, but I think it works and doesn't feel like they are trying too hard to reach a wider audience, plus it still jams when it needs to

yeah I will say that I wouldn’t bust out the term sell out like a lot of hardcore kids do when this band comes up
I don’t care for it but it really does just seem like they’re doing whatever the fuck they want and just happened to blow up

Nah, their endgame was always to become an early 2000's Roadrunner Records hardcore/nu-metal WWEcore band.

It does kinda feel like one of the reason they didn't do this sound sooner was because it was way less cool to do 90s industrial/nu stuff in 2012, that and resources obviously.

This is going to age well and unfortunately, most of what is said here will become more and more true every day. CO could have definitely taken the lazy route like they have with their latest single unfortunately, (though I have a hunch they'll bounce back) but I do truly believe this album will age incredibly well; especially if you've heard the hidden bonus track, The Cutter, which needed to be an official closer imo, it's fucking monstrous, please seek it out if you can.

"the type of all encompassing go-for-broke mainstream metal album that only Slipknot seem capable of creating these days."
Congratulations to Code Orange for making a better Slipknot album than the newest Slipknot album

Still a masterpiece. These guys are be dropping a new album this year, and if their Outbreak fest appearance is anything to go by, it could come sooner than you think. Hard to imagine they'll top this for me, but it seems like they'll give an honest shot at trying to top it.
I don't think I'll have an album experience quite like this. You meet this album where it's at, it will give and give and give. This album has this unfathomably large scope to it, so many little details in every track.

The pop singing in this album is cringe and terrible, would have been way better without it
