This would be even better without the 3 minutes of pointless ambient dead air scattered throughout

‘Time Will Die’ seems like a solid bet for Sowcore
The last Rolo is the tastiest though (and no you can’t have it)

And I think they still have crazier in them

maybe I just need more time with it but so far I'm not hearing all the praise. it's a wild album but not groundbreaking in the sense that it's not much different from what Number 12 were doing on Mongrel and Worse Than Alone.

Another one of my favourites here is Field Sobriety Practice. Haven't seen many talk about yet but the solo is amazing.

"Are they doing it better than Number 12 though?"
I guess that's where I don't think they are. I'm not assessing the enjoyment of this based on its level of "groundbreakingness," but I'm seeing a lot of people (like on RYM) use that attribute to connect their enjoyment to it. and that's fine, but I just think because there hasn't been an album like this in a long minute, it feels fresher than it really is musically.

In terms of all the combined influences they use, I'd take them as a step above N12. It's not necessarily a massive groundbreaking effort, but it has a unique tone to it that's definitively Daoboys; you can pick em out of a lineup pretty easily and few, if any are doing this kind of wacky stuff.

Never too young for the Daoboys. Lot of wonderful life lessons to pick up on! Very vibrant vocabulary and a great demonstration of how to use your voice.

This genre is apparently in its peak rn. Three or four bands consistently dropping 4,5-5 bombs
