Does Invent fall under Djent? I do definitely see it with all the slightly odd time signatures and bloated number of chugs but I feel it's moreso a portion of the record rather than a foundation, at least when compared to shit like maybe Wolves Within by After the Burial or a more spacious record like anything by Vildhjarta

Invent does not fall under djent no. They play in djent frequencies but they don’t use it in the fashion that “djent” bands do where it’s the focus and main element of their music

Yeah this is probably the best stuff they’ve done tbh. And I wouldn’t call this Djent necessarily…more like progressive metal with a core edge. Definitely some metalcore/post hardcore influence in there.
