It's a neat tune actually and I wish Jeff did more adventurous stuff like that

There's a good chunk of this I really love, but this is the first Jeff Rosenstock album where I feel like he doesn't have much to say. The lyrics and instrumentals are more non-specific, there isn't a whole lot unifying track-to-track... It's an interesting collection of songs and diverse enough at the very least. I'm actually starting to realize NO DREAM might be my favorite Rosenstock project, it has such an unmatched sense of urgency to it that I just love. This one is 3.5-4.0 range for now

"Hellmode, the forty-year old’s latest that takes on a challenge that is just as difficult as the title implies: making a punk-ish album in your forties"
gotta admit this sounds a hell of a lot more interesting that anything here actually is, feels like he already went down this road with much better results in WORRY.

WORRY. is one of the greatest pop punk albums of all time and nothing he's done since has been remotely interesting

maybe I should give worry another honest to goodness try but I've listened to the songs I remember from it recently, namely we begged to explode, and its like good but I doubt the album is anything but 3.5 material. idk I try to be impartial when it comes to genre but lately I am very partial towards pop punk. even classic punk like bad religion or Dookie i can sort of appreciate but the punk songwriting style feels very rudimentary and these bands have the sound quality of a band working from their garage. idk man

bad religion and dookie slap

can't say enough good things about his album art tho, lol

if only the music was anywhere near as exciting

“ I'm actually starting to realize NO DREAM might be my favorite Rosenstock project, it has such an unmatched sense of urgency to it that I just love.”
Of his solo stuff for sure, it’s got this great lightening in a bottle energy. His BTMI and Arrogant Sons stuff still takes the biscuit for unkept kinetic nonsense though

Lol no what kicked off?

Jeff posted a list of the merch cuts for his tour, Propagandhi posted something apparently directed at him about artists complaining about merch cuts when they use clothing made from sweatshops. Jeff posted proof that his shirts are sweatshop free and now there’s arguing.

lmao what an idiot
Jeff's always been extremely based and seems to take care to go about having a touring music career about as ethically as you posibly could. Extremely weird of Propagandhi to try and criticize something that had nothing to do with Jeff's valid article AND for Propagandhi to be wrong about it. Extremely clownish behavior

Loved Worry and Post, magic seemed to have started wearing off with No Dream. Not sure I am very interested in checking this out after reading the review.
