For sure. It's crazy... I've always been one of the big prog metal guys on Sput, but I didn't even give the band a fair shake until last year. I think part of it was the group's name, which made me think they'd be a really generic power metal band

Guess I shouldn't judge a book by its cover, lol

Fair enough. Well you’ve got some catching up to do, man! They’re 15 albums in or whatever.

Monday Morning Apocalypse and Glorious Collision can definitely be skipped, but everything else is worth a listen.

I've already listened to a good chunk of their discog; just need to update my ratings, lol

But yeah, they've been incredibly consistent over the years, despite the stylistic shifts

Yeah they’ve been very consistent especially since ‘14, to the point it feels like they’re on auto-pilot

Hymns is probably still my favourite ‘modern’ album of theirs

Yeah this sounds good, guys are just very solid but they don't stand out that much imo. Should check the older albums though, I might like those more.

The earlier albums are definitely more unique.

Hymns is probably still my favourite ‘modern’ album of theirs[2]

Hey Lil and Brendan! All good, been inactive on here but occasionally I log in. Good seeing familiar faces :-)

This wouldn’t be an Evergrey page without KJ ;-)

Beardog check out Recreation Day, In Search of Truth, or the Inner Circle. That’s the band at its best

^ This. That's the holy trinity of their discog. Solitude Dominance Tragedy is fantastic too

Haha what’s up, Omair. Yeah you knew I’d be around.

Solitude Dominance Tragedy has what will always be the best Evergrey song…..”Solitude Within”

Solitude Within is a top 5 Evergrey track for sure, and the recording from their live album is great too. She Speaks To The Dead has always been a fav of mine off that record, too
