THAT'S what I'm talking about. Sprinkle some jazz fusion/world music in there as well for good measure

this album clearly displays Roger Waters in full control, one of their best if not their best effort

I'd say Prog rock is closer to jazz fusion (though not a sub-genre since they're relatively the same age) while Metal is a sub-genre of blues, if we're going to categorise based on those genres.

@Wu-Tang: Probably my fav Floyd album followed by WYWH

"this album clearly displays Roger Waters in full control, one of their best if not their best effort"

I think he began his authoritative "dictatorship" on this album, and by the time of the wall, he had gained full control, to such an extent, that he and Gilmour couldn't agree on Comfortably Numb's artistic path and the song ended up having both versions on the same song...

"Metal is a sub-genre of blues"

Indeed. To me, when you strip off the blues element out of metal, it looses some of its artistic integrity

Agreed, as well as its soul, which Blues is drenched in. I think we had the same agreement on a Sabbath thread :-)
